About US

We love to sing!

We’ve assembled a pleasing balance of tenor, baritone and rich, resonant bass voices that together create an almost perfect blend of sweet harmonious sound. We think that our selection of music appeals to most everyone, too - favourite and familiar melodies for spirituals, sacred anthems, folk and traditional songs, tunes from the musical stage and sometimes, a love ballad from the hit parade.

We perform about 12 concerts a year throughout Ontario, and many right here in the Toronto area. To date, our long-distance concert travels have taken us to France, England and Wales in 2001, to Germany in 2004, and to the Canadian Maritimes in 2007. Our Travel Team is currently studying concert invitations from several new overseas destinations.

We’d be delighted to sing for your group and help with your fund-raising projects. Contact us for details via our e-mail address or phone number on this web site.

About Our Group

As a choral group, The Men of Note Male Voice Choir came together in 1999 with just 17 originals and nearly all of them are still singing. We now number more than 40 members.

As we’ve grown in size so has our Men of Note Family. Most of the wives of members actively support the Choir, attending all our concerts and traveling overseas with us, too. We’re a closely-knit group, one of which its fun to be part.

We hope to continue growing so we invite men who love the joy of singing to raise their voice in song with us. We meet every Monday night in Stouffville, about 30-miles northeast of Toronto, at the Stouffville United Church, 34 Church Street, Stouffville. Choir members travel each week from many points in the GTA including Newmarket, Toronto, Uxbridge, Aurora, Richmond Hill and Markham. So come along and join the song.

About Our Soloist

Susan Brown was born and raised in the small community of Riverview, just outside of Moncton, New Brunswick. She learned at an early age that she loved to sing and to entertain.

Now a resident of Toronto, Miss Brown is presently a member of the 160-voice Mendelsohn Choir and the Mendelsohn Singers.

Miss Brown has performed as guest soloist with numerous church choirs and has appeared in an opera. In December 2001, she was invited to be a guest soloist with the Men of Note Male Voice Choir in Stouffville, Ontario.

Since that time, she has become a regular soloist with the male voice choir and has traveled with them to various parts of the Province for concerts. In 2004, she accompanied the Choir for it‘s concert series in central Germany. She also travelled to the Maritimes with the Men of Note on their 2007 tour of that area.

Miss Brown has recorded several CDs and is often a guest soloist with a number of German choirs in the Toronto area. She can be contacted at susanbsings@yahoo.ca
